There are several factors that one needs to consider before placing an ad on the internet for business such as the outreach and popularity of the platforms where you place your advertisement. Internet search today is easy and simple to use so chances are that while searching for things that you are looking for you can come across several links for the same product or service such as the official website, the social media handle, and so on.

Facebook is popular all over the globe and it relies on Facebook Ads for paid social campaigns on Facebook while Google Ads runs search and display ads. While they both run pay-per-click (PPC) ads, they do so on separate channels and often target users at different stages in the buyer’s journey which ultimately seals the deal for your brand.

At the core of both these technology-based companies, the motive remains similar which is innovation. Google proactively relies on and encourages innovation whether that involves AR glasses, self-driving cars, or spaceships. One of the biggest advantages of using Google products such as chrome, maps, or Gmail is that it is available in many languages all over the globe and is easily accessible if you have a cell phone or internet connection.

Facebook now known as Meta has recently acquired social media apps like Instagram and WhatsApp which is what millions of youths, adults, and even kids use to stay connected with each other. The team at Facebook has approached innovation by tweaking things in a smart yet attractive manner which has led it to become the most sought-after place for placing social media advertisements on the internet.

Facebook’s impact as a company is undeniable as a marketing machine, by taking a chance on the metaverse one can see new approaches towards marketing in the coming years. As an organization that consistently follows a daring marketing attitude, at its core business, it will try to attract influencers and brand ambassadors in the future for maintaining its lead in the social media space.

Google on the other side has attracted the grey matter and the best of the best want to work in Google or with google as it’s a consummate marketing performer. From Google Doodles to moonshots and the sponsorship of science competitions, the company is always looking ahead and building a futurist brand image. Add to that its hundreds of successful and creative video campaigns, and there can only be one winner of this contest.

There are 2 distinct categories when it comes to marketing Customer Generation and Customer Retention. Both are a critical part of your business to grow and succeed. These behemoths within the Internet space tackle each one of these fundamental parts of marketing better than the other.

For customer generation, Google wears the crown with unparalleled rivalry. It is estimated that 75% of all Internet searches are done through the ‘Google verse.’ Now, if someone asked you the question “Tell me how to find a great auto repair shop in the area” most of the answers would start out something like this “I would Google it.” That practice is incredibly common, it’s more than common as millennials and Generation Z today prefers to read reviews and comments about products and services before deciding on whom to go for their requirement.

So yes, both are incredibly important, but for different reasons. When thinking about a comprehensive marketing strategy, regarding customer generation and customer retention. Marketing your business is not hard so long as teams are disciplined enough to stick to the fundamentals.  Be it Facebook Ads or Google Ads, one isn’t inherently better than the other. Once the budget and target audience are set, you will find that each one offers unique features that can be useful to your brand at various points in its growth.

Both these companies know how to retain the interest around their brand and retain customers’ interest and encourage interactive designs which will attract the people of the internet. Facebook is the number one social media platform with over 2.7 billion monthly active users, according to a 2021 Statista report. In addition to its large audience base, the platform offers granular targeting capabilities, allowing marketers to reach users based on demographics, behaviors, life events, and interests.

Google Ads is an ideal tool for demand capture – meaning reaching users who have a high purchase intent. For instance, if I’m looking up the keyword “water bottle,” this may signal an interest in purchasing one or show me options that will or which can motivate me or the target audience towards the water bottle of a specific brand.

The final decision on presenting content and marketing products in the best possible way for retaining and attracting customers should always be the goal for teams handling content and advertisement for your business.
